Invoicing for consultants and advisers
Hours, advice packages and retainers neatly on one invoice, with clear payment terms.
Typical invoicing problems
Tracking and justifying hours
Clients want to know what your hours were spent on. A vague line leads to questions and delays.
Retainers and fixed monthly fees
Recreating the same invoice every month takes time and is easily forgotten.
Customers abroad
Business customers in another EU country are subject to different VAT rules.
Slow payers
Large clients sometimes have long payment procedures. Without a reminder, your payment slips.
How FactuurPro helps
Hours and units on the line
Put quantities and units, such as hours or days, on every invoice line with a clear description.
Recurring invoices
Create an invoice that repeats automatically, for example for a monthly retainer.
Reverse charge and 0%
Choose the right VAT rate or reverse charge per line, for example for business customers in other EU countries.
Reminders and customer portal
Your customer sees open invoices in the portal and receives reminders that stop by themselves after payment.
Example invoice
A fictional example with three lines. The amounts are calculated the way FactuurPro does it.

Fictional example for illustration. Which VAT rate applies to you depends on your situation: check it with the Dutch Tax Administration.
Three tips
State what the hours cover
Briefly name what the hours were spent on per line. It prevents questions afterwards.
Check foreign customers’ VAT numbers
Do it before you invoice and keep your check.
Agree on a payment term
Put the agreed term in your quote and on your invoice.
Frequently asked questions
Can I have a retainer invoiced automatically?
Yes, with recurring invoices you have an invoice recreated on a schedule.
What goes on the invoice for an EU customer?
For a business customer with a VAT identification number in another EU country, the service is generally taxed in the customer’s country. You then put ‘btw verlegd’ and the customer’s VAT number on the invoice. Read our guide on the reverse charge.
Can I give a discount on part of my invoice?
Yes. You can enter a discount per line. FactuurPro then calculates the totals and VAT for you.
