Invoicing for web developers

Hourly projects, monthly maintenance and customers abroad: invoice without the hassle.

Typical invoicing problems

  • Projects that overrun

A project grows bigger than expected and your hours drift away from the quote.

  • Maintenance and hosting per month

Monthly fees have to be invoiced again every month.

  • Clients abroad

Customers in the EU or beyond are subject to different VAT rules.

  • Invoices that don’t get paid

Between sprints you forget to send reminders.

How FactuurPro helps

  • Hours and units on the line

Put hours or units and a clear description on every line.

  • Recurring invoices

Create an invoice for maintenance or hosting that is recreated every month.

  • Reverse charge and 0%

Choose the right VAT rate or reverse charge per line for business customers in other EU countries.

  • Automatic reminders

Reminders go out according to your settings and stop after payment.

Three tips

  1. Work with a clear scope

Describe in your quote what is and is not included in the price.

  2. Invoice maintenance in advance

Agree that monthly amounts are paid beforehand.

  3. Check foreign customers’ VAT numbers

Check the number with VIES before you invoice without VAT.

Frequently asked questions

Do I have to charge VAT to customers abroad?

For business customers with a VAT identification number in another EU country, the service is generally taxed in the customer’s country and you put ‘btw verlegd’ on the invoice. Other situations have other rules. Read our guide on the reverse charge.

Can I invoice maintenance automatically every month?

Yes, with recurring invoices you create such an invoice on a schedule.

Can I put several hourly lines on one invoice?

Yes. You add as many lines as you like, each with quantity, unit and price.
